How to Clean Window Blinds

Of all the chores you do to maintain your household, cleaning your window blinds is probably one of the most frustrating. More often than not, people either neglect or forget to clean them altogether; however with a few easy steps, you can make this arduous task much easier to manage. Read on to learn how to properly clean and maintain your window blinds so they remain bright and dust free.
First: A little light dusting
Start off by dusting your window blinds with a feather duster to get rid of any light dust that has settled on them. You can also use a wash cloth or a vacuum cleaner instead of the duster as any of these tools is going to get rid of loose dust. You also want to dust both sides of the blinds as people often forget to clean the bottoms of each blind.
Second: Wiping away stains
If your blinds have any sort of stains or lightly soiled areas, use a moist towel with an all purpose cleaner. Slowly rub the soiled area back and forth until the stain is removed. You may also use disposable cleaning wipes for this task; however this is not the most economical choice. Again, clean both the top and bottom of each blind.
Third: Prevent further dust
Once your blinds are properly cleaned, rub a dryer sheet over them as this is great at keeping dust from collecting. While it does not eliminate the accumulation of dust altogether, it is ideal for slowing that process. Congratulations, you have successfully cleaned your blinds!
